What does Paradise Oaks Youth Services do?

Paradise Oaks Youth Services is a Short Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) for at risk youth between the ages of 12-18 with severe behavioral issues. Our program is centered on providing youth that come from backgrounds of trauma, neglect, and abuse a safe place where they can receive therapy and counseling. The overall goal of our program is to help youth learn healthy coping mechanisms and life skills. Our trained staff which is comprised of a clinical team and care staff provide 24 hour care to our youth to ensure that their time in our program is successful and that they are able to transition back to traditional living situations. We live by our mission which is that we are committed to understand, support, and nurture youth and families in their time of need, to help them reach for their potential.

What does the Clinical Director do? Under the direct supervision of the Executive Director, the Clinical Director holds the primary clinical position to make and implement decisions regarding clinical components of the residential program. The Clinical Director is also a member of the Management Team that focuses on the macro-level operations of the overall agency. The Clinical Director is responsible for overseeing all clinical related issues, including but not limited to therapy and Medi-Cal billing.

SUPERVISES

Facility Social Workers and other clinical staff.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Responsible for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the clinical component of the program, insuring practices are trauma informed and reflective of current evidenced based practices.

2. Provide crisis interventions when called upon.

3. Conducts weekly Clinical supervision of clinical staff.

4. Compliance with all aspects of approved program statement, the State of California Department of Social Services, Medi Cal regulations and other applicable regulations and procedures.

5. Ensures compliance to all state and federal Medi Cal regulations.

6. Responsible for evaluations and reviews of all assigned subordinate employees.

7. Performs duties of Facility Social Workers and the Intake Coordinator in their absence.

8. Head of Service per Medi Cal regulations.

9. Reviews all clinical documentation.

10. Performs all other work assigned by the supervisor consistent with the above duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. L.C.S.W., M.F.T., or other Board of Behavioral Science license required.

2. Three years experience in social service agency or residential treatment preferred.

3. Valid California Driver's License required; must meet agency requirements for driving a van.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require weekend and evening work. Work may require overnight travel.

EXEMPT STATUS

The position is an exempt as defined under Order 5-2001, Department of Industrial Relations, Public Housekeeping Industry.
