Business Development Director

The purpose of this role is to drive the companys growth through the acquisition of new business opportunities and strategic partnerships. This leadership role demands a seasoned professional with a proven track record in business development, strong strategic planning skills, and the ability to foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below .

1. Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with the companys goals and objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to set and achieve short-term and long-term business goals.

2. Partnerships and Alliances

  • Identify, negotiate, and secure strategic partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures that enhance the companys market position and drive growth.
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with key partners, clients, and stakeholders to ensure long-term success and mutual benefit.

3. Sales and Revenue Growth

  • Lead efforts to identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • Oversee the development of proposals, presentations, and contracts to secure new business.
  • Manage the business development team to achieve sales targets and expand the companys customer base.

4. Market Research and Analysis

  • Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify potential opportunities for growth and expansion.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions to adjust strategies as needed.

5. Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the business development team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and ensure continuous professional development for team members.

6. Brand and Reputation Management:

  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance the companys reputation and visibility.
  • Develop and maintain a strong professional network to facilitate business development efforts.

  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing business development strategies that drive revenue growth.
  • Strong understanding of market research, sales processes, and strategic planning.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and strategic thinking.

Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred. Equivalent experience considered in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development, sales, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Systems Experience:
  • Microsoft suite: Outlook, Excel - Required (Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint preferred)

Work Environment / Conditions

The work environment/conditions described herein are representative of those that an incumbent may experience.

  • This job primarily operates in an office setting based in Twinsburg, OH with potential for remote work.
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and mobile communications devices.
  • Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
  • Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
