Job Description:

Derivco South Africa is seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Services Engineer to be part of our dynamic team.

Join our Infrastructure team and perform as a member of the Systems Services Operations team. In this role, you will support the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, recovery, modification, upgrading of IT systems and components to provide services that enable the Systems to be highly available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support windows & Linux environments
  • Support virtualization and cloud environment
  • Support the day-to-day needs of the business as part of a collaborative team effort.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any incidents or problems that impact production operations.
  • Installing, hardening, and maintaining of OS, IIS, & SQL environments
  • Produce automation and tooling solutions which includes scripting and automation of production deployments
  • Build and maintain automation tools for development, configuration, deployment, monitoring, and operations
  • Produce and maintain technical and procedure documentation
  • Contribute to projects, team and service improvements through collaboration and innovation.


Key Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server
  • Experience with Linux
  • Experience with VMware
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with creating automation solutions to reduce manual tasks


Training and Certifications:

  • VMware VCP (Recommended)
  • Cloud Certification (Azure, AWS)
  • Windows Server (MSCE)
