A major differentiator and key to Babylon Micro-Farms success is based in our real-time farm-monitoring software which helps maintain ideal conditions, such as humidity, water, light, and temperature, to grow successful produce & herbs - which is typically a significant challenge for users of other vertical farming equipment.

Babylon began with the idea of growing food where it was never thought possible. Founders Alexander Olesen and Graham Smith met at the University of Virginia, where they first designed a low-cost Micro-Farm to provide nutritious produce for food-insecure refugees in the Middle East. Their goal was to bring the benefits of sustainable hydroponic farming to anyone who needed it. As a result, they developed technology that would automate the complex aspects of indoor farming by simplifying crop production and making it accessible to anyone.

Babylon Micro-Farms is a high-growth, early-stage venture backed company based in the Scotts Addition neighborhood of Richmond, VA.

About the role:

The ideal candidate is a hardworking and highly organized marketer looking to grow their career. Were looking for someone who can clearly convey the story of our company, our products, and their benefits to our target audience. Candidates should have a background in B2B marketing and a strong knowledge of modern marketing tools and technologies.

This role will focus on project management, copywriting, creative design, and executing events. Were looking for a strategic thinker with a keen eye for detail, whos budget-minded, resourceful, and highly organized.

This on-site position is based in Richmond, Virginia and will report to the CEO, and have managerial responsibilities over a team of in-house marketing resources, as well as freelancers and agencies.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with senior leadership to develop and deliver consistent brand image and messaging across all content and collateral.
  • Messaging to position our market category, target customer segmentation, value for customers, distinguishing features and/or capabilities, and competitive positioning.
  • Create and oversee the execution of a content strategy to convey the benefits of our products to various audiences via our company website, sales enablement and other marketing collateral, webinars, product videos, blog posts, and email campaigns.
  • Coordinating marketing projects as needed, including content production and events.

Experience:

  • BA or MA in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of relevant marketing experience either in-house or at agencies.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in leading teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proofreading
  • Works well in a collaborative, cross-team capacity, and also independently
  • Strong problem-solving ability and performance/metrics-driven thinking
  • Knowledge and experience with Account-Based Marketing strategies and techniques
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of CRM platforms, like Hubspot, and ability to take advantage of full capabilities of associated tools
  • Nice to have: Experience in Food Service, Dining, Hospitality, or related categories preferred.
