This experience must have been gained in an administrative position, or in other positions that included the successful direction, or assistance in the direction of, an entire correctional program or a major phase of such a program. You must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal Service which includes (1) producing and distributing operations orders; (2) managing taskings for an organization; and (3) reviewing guidance from higher authority and refining/updating organizational policies and/or regulations to meet requirements. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Communications Influencing/Negotiating Planning and Evaluating Program Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
