Construction Estimator Merritt Island, FL - Fully Onsite

Bluehawk Consulting is seeking a Construction Estimator to support our client, an aerospace leader. Our client is making space travel possible, and your work will directly support putting people, research, and products safely in space.
Project Overview The Construction Estimator shall be responsible for generating initial project budget estimates, updating estimates during the design phases to ensure the project is tracking on budget. Negotiate the changes to the work during the construction/installation phase and compile post-mortem cost summaries of the project.

This role shall work alongside our client's estimator, construction management, field operations, and scheduling teams to continue to evolve estimating metrics.
Responsibilities The following defines the specific tasks, but is not meant to be exhaustive as each project will have its unique requirements:
  • Generate rough order of magnitude, conceptual, bid, and construct estimates for bidding of aerospace manufacturing facility.
  • Produce initial budget estimates for new projects including estimate refinements.
  • Lead project teams with scope development, bid requirements, and schedule of values.
  • Develop estimates for all changes to the work during the construction/installation phases.
  • Update project estimates throughout the design phases including but not limited to concept, schematic, design development and construction document phases. Includes working with project teams in various regional areas.
  • Develop & maintain a database of cost comparison for various manufacturing & non-manufacturing facilities.
  • Create "value engineering" components with the project team to mitigate cost overruns. Researches and presents alternate materials or methodology for VE consideration.
  • Research market conditions for cost trends and local means and methods. Develops location cost factors and escalation factors.
  • Compile overall project summaries on cost at the conclusion of the project.
  • Evaluate Supplier/sub-contract proposals for changes in project work per contract requirements and fair market values.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 3+ years of experience required.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time.
