This role entails a substantial hands-on contribution in designing, developing, and maintaining automation scripts and processes, while also overseeing the team's efforts to ensure efficient and reliable software release cycles and set standards for automation, test plans and documentation. If you began your career as a software engineer or developer and you've advanced to a senior test engineer role, combining a fervent dedication to delivering high-quality software with strong management skills, you are the ideal candidate. RESPONSIBILITIES: Define test strategies and select and implement necessary automation tools to enhance the quality and dependability of CrossFit’s products. Participate as an integral member of an agile software development team, promoting quality throughout the entire software development lifecycle via automated and manual tests. Assist in defining and setting up our testing environments, utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and test data management for consistent environments across various deployment phases. Elevate the overall team by promoting and exemplifying sound development practices, such as design sessions, code reviews, and documentation. Mentor teammates and foster a supportive environment for skill growth and development. Establish standards for application testing, issue tracking, and issue reporting. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL: 8+ years of experience in testing, including both manual and automated tests (minimum 3+ year managing). Proficiency with open-source automation tools, such as Robot Framework, Playwright, Appium, Cypress, Selenium, or other appropriate test automation frameworks. Expert knowledge of the Python programming language. Ability to efficiently read software design and code to develop comprehensive test cases and anticipate potential faults. Proficiency writing and maintaining automation code, libraries, and frameworks in Python and JavaScript. Capability to troubleshoot software issues in order to identify the source, whether it be in the test or application code, or a specific component. Detail-oriented with strong organization and structured thinking capabilities. Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BS degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Led the integration of automated testing frameworks into the CI/CD pipeline, utilizing GitHub Actions (or comparable platforms) to enhance efficiency and reliability of software release cycles. Experience in test automation for web front-ends, mobile apps, and REST services. Experience orchestrating the testing of complex distributed systems, including proprietary product platforms, SaaS applications, and enterprise systems like Salesforce and Netsuite.
