We are seeking a strategic, engaging, and experienced Director of Human Resources to join our team. The initial focus of this role will be centered around recruitment, particularly within technical domains, with the understanding that this role will also handle all duties of a Director of People/Director of HR. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 10 years of HR experience, with a specialization in recruitment, preferably within engineering and technology sectors. This role demands someone who thrives in fast-paced but organized environments, excels in designing and implementing policies and procedures, and possesses a talent for building and refining HR systems.
Key Responsibilities
Initially, spearhead the recruitment process for technical positions, with a strong emphasis on engineering, technology and R&D-based roles, to ensure the acquisition and retention of top-tier talent.
Develop and implement innovative recruiting and sourcing strategies to engage potential candidates effectively, utilizing platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter and other sources to proactively identify and attract top talent.
Foster strong relationships with hiring managers, comprehensively understanding their staffing requirements and priorities.
Build, mentor, and guide the HR team, fostering an environment conducive to high performance and continual growth.
Oversee employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance enhancement initiatives.
Ensure strict adherence to all pertinent employment laws and regulations.
Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and alignment with industry best practices and legal guidance.
Implement and manage HRIS systems to streamline HR operations and uphold meticulous record-keeping standards.
Analyze HR metrics and trends to identify optimization opportunities and inform strategic decision-making processes.
Drive the evolution of the role towards a broader focus on people management, encompassing all facets of HR functions.
Own the full-cycle of recruiting, including (but not limited to): identifying candidates, screening candidates, onboarding candidates, checking in on the performance of placed candidates, working to retain candidates, and transitioning candidates.
Qualifications
Advanced degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) certification.
Experience working at a startup or in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Experience with recruiting for government contractors, specifically in engineering or R&D services-based organizations.
Knowledge of iCIMS Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Learning Management System (LMS).
Experience with full-cycle recruiting.
