Job Summary Fishbeck is seeking a detail-orientated Human Resources Generalist to join our growing team. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a collaborative mindset, history of creative problem-solving, and the interpersonal skills necessary to interact with a diverse group of people. The HR Generalist will be responsible for performing daily HR-related tasks while working closely with the HR team and leadership to support the overall mission and business strategies of Fishbeck. Primary Functions
  • Facilitate the recruitment process with the Talent Acquisition Specialist, including identifying needs, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and presenting offers.
  • Advise front line leaders on employee relation issues, such as staff development, promotions, and performance evaluations, while ensuring consistent policy implementation and documentation.
  • Coach leadership on best practices for managing and developing their teams and enhancing employee engagement.
  • Lead staff performance, disciplinary, and separation meetings.
  • Consult with leadership on strategic HR initiatives and organizational development, including business restructuring, workforce planning, and succession planning.
  • Align HR strategy with business goals in partnership with leadership.
  • Field, respond to, and delegate employment-related inquiries from staff.
  • Support other HR Specialists with benefit, health & safety, employee engagement, and onboarding tasks.
  • Participate in college job fairs and establish university contacts.
  • Review and audit HRIS data for accuracy and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Stay informed of HR trends and updates to best practices.
  • Travel to regional offices to support staff and attend recruiting events as necessary.
  • Uphold firm values and maintain confidentiality.
  • Other responsibilities as directed by Human Resources leadership.
Minimum Physical Requirements Exposed to occasional lifting and carrying. Will have normal office working conditions and be required to sit and use a computer. Able to use various technical equipment for communication and documentation. Visual acuity necessary to perform responsibilities. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation. Desired Education/Licensure Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Psychology Desired Skills/Experience
  • 5+ years of human resources experience, preferably in an engineering or professional services industry,
  • Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS/ATS systems (e.g., Paycor)
  • Highly organized and detailed, with excellent time management skills.
  • Aptitude for creatively solving problems solving and customer service.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong focus on collaboration, coaching, and customer service.
  • Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to employment and recruitment.
