Position Summary:

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist performs duties at the professional level to support the daily operations of the HR Department. This position is responsible for administrative duties which includes the handling of confidential correspondence of a more sensitive nature.

Hourly Wage: $22.00-$26.00

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handles material that is confidential in nature and makes decisions based on organizational policy.
  • Maintains personnel files of current and former staff to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Reviews candidate resumes and conducts candidate phone screens to assist in Agencys recruitment process.
  • Provides administrative support to the Predictive Index (PI) job target processes to include sending the PI assessment to candidates.
  • Retrieves onboarding paperwork for potential new hires within Agency's Application Tracking System.
  • Assists with conducting and tracking pre-employment inquiries as needed.
  • Works with new hires to collect and organize their onboarding documents to ensure all documents are completed and free from error before the employment start date.
  • Creates personnel files for new hires.
  • Enters new hire data into Agencys Human Resources Information System.
  • Conducts and coordinates agency new-hire orientation.
  • Completes employee verification of employment requests.
  • Maintains employee auto insurance process from start to finish to ensure HR is compliant with program contractual requirements.
  • Organizes and creates HR check requests for Finance Department processing including the monthly HR credit card statement.
  • Maintains homepage of Agency's Human Resources Information System.
  • Orders Human Resources office supplies.
  • Maintains Agency sympathy gift request process.
  • Maintains Agency anniversary certificate process.
  • Provides support in all areas of the HR Department and for the Director of HR as needed.
  • Ongoing other duties and special assignments assigned by supervisor on an as needed basis based on Agency demands.

  • Demonstrates capability in working with repetitive tasks.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Organized and highly motivated.

  • This position requires reliable transportation.

  • Must have a valid Michigan drivers license, good driving record with zero work restrictions, and personal auto insurance as required by law.

  • Must submit to Agency approved background checks.



Recommended Employment Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Health Care Administration or other related field is required.
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM credential preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience within customer service, administrative or related role is required. HR specific experience highly preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite is strongly required.
  • Previous experience working in a Human Resources Information System is highly preferred.
  • Previous experience working in an Application Tracking System is highly preferred.

None required.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
