Description GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the supervision of the principal, the Development Director develops and implements the strategies necessary to gather resources; carries out the development activities required to achieve the goals of the school; ensures that the goals are adequately articulated and that a long-range plan is in place; oversees the coordination of the fundraising programs; works cooperatively with the principal to develop positive public relations within and outside the school community; oversees the coordination of the work of volunteers assisting with development projects; coordinates communication with benefactors of the school; conducts the annual giving campaign; coordinates marketing of the capital campaign with the Principal, Campaign Committee and parents; performs any other job-related tasks deemed necessary and/or assigned by the principal. DUTIES OF THE JOB: A. Researches potential foundations for grant opportunities; submits written grant proposals for funding. B. Supports public relations program by writing press releases, updating website and collateral materials and serves as contact with the media C. Coordinates, and oversees fundraising activities as needed to supplement the budget D. Promotes the positive image of the school by establishing positive public relations within and outside the school community E. Oversees/plans activities for the effective recruitment and retention of students (Open House, etc.) F. Maintain the school database of stakeholders, including records of all gifts to the school. G. Prepare thank you letters to all school donors (annual appeal, capital campaign, general donation). H. Prepare welcome letter to new parishioners at St. Gabriel. I. Collaborates with the Capital Campaign team to assist with publicity and other communication. J. Maintain all social media for the school – Facebook, Twitter, Google, etc. K. Designs and submits weekly bulletin news to the 3 parishes. L. Designs and oversees the printing and distribution of the Annual Appeal and the Annual Report. M. Oversees the promotion of the Catholic Education Arizona (CEA) program and other STO’s. N. Oversees the activities of the Parent Volunteer Organization. O. Oversees the student ambassador program. Requirements REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS A. Minimum degree: AA B. Practicing Catholic. C. Have initiative, creativity, and problem-solving skills; judgment in handling different personalities and emerging situations; an ability to observe and actively listen in assessing financial planning and program needs; proficiency in good communication skills with both children and adults; public speaking experience; a positive attitude in difficult situations; the ability to work cooperatively with others as well as the ability to delegate.
