WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

We are seeking a creative and passionate individual to join our team as a Life Enrichment Director. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing a wide variety of engaging activities and programs to enhance the overall quality of life for our residents. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, implement, and coordinate a wide range of activities and programs to cater to the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual needs of residents.
  • Collaborate with other departments, residents, and families to create a comprehensive calendar of events and activities.
  • Lead and facilitate group activities, events, and outings for residents, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Work closely with residents to identify their interests and preferences, and incorporate these into the programming schedule.
  • Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback to continually evaluate and improve the effectiveness of programs.
  • Manage the department budget, resources, and supplies efficiently to ensure a diverse and engaging activity schedule.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise a team of volunteers to assist with program implementation and execution.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and innovations in senior living enrichment programs to continuously improve the quality of life for residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, and community partners to keep everyone informed and engaged in the enrichment activities.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation therapy, gerontology, social work, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working in a senior living community or long-term care setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with residents, families, and community members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities to effectively plan and coordinate a diverse range of activities.
  • Creative and innovative mindset with the ability to develop engaging and varied programming for residents of all interests and abilities.
  • Understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by older adults, and a commitment to providing person-centered care.
  • Certification in therapeutic recreation or related field is a plus.
  • CPR and First Aid certification may be required.
