A Day in the Life of a Transportation Design Engineer As a Transportation Design Engineer at Sunrise Engineering, each day unfolds with a sense of purpose and excitement. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you embark on a journey to create innovative solutions for community engineering projects. In the afternoon, you meet with clients, acting as their advocate and building strong relationships. As a mentor, you guide and nurture the growth of EITs and designers. Your day-to-day activities may include: Prepare and oversee revisions of original drawings and revisions of transportation, municipal, private and industrial civil engineering projects using Microstation, InRoads, and AutoCAD software. Work to ensure that projects are kept within budget, scope, and timeline Market potential and existing clients Keep the client happy through regular communication and ensure that projects are kept within budget, scope and timeline. Mentor engineers, E.I.T.’s and designers within the group Prepare technical reports Attend and sometimes conduct staff meetings as required.
