The Material Handler/Core Drill Operator will be integral in supporting all aspects of customer-related tasks, from order fulfillment to inventory and warehouse operations, actively participating in driving and hands-on drilling to support our build and install process from start to finish. This is a great career opportunity to attend training/seminars to expand your knowledge in fire protection and grow with our company.
  • Shift Hours: 6 AM - 2:30 PM; overtime available
  • Starting Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 hourly, commensurate with experience

A Day in the Life - Material Handler/Core Drill Operator
  • Perform core drilling operations on job sites to create openings for pipes through concrete walls and floors according to project requirements.
  • Fabricate metal (measuring, cutting, assembling, threading, and grooving of pipe) before delivery to construction sites.
  • Properly maintain and demonstrate care of tools, equipment, and company vehicles.
  • Forklift operation, loading/unloading trucks keeping materials organized and accessible.
  • Process all inventory paperwork completely, accurately, and on time.
  • Cleaning and organizing shop work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project deadlines and tasks are met.
  • Follows company safety policies and procedures to maintain high-quality results.

Qualifications:
  • Must be able to perform job responsibilities in an industrial, construction site, and general outdoor environment around heavy machinery and equipment.
  • Relevant work experience in a warehouse/construction/contracting environment is preferred.
  • Good mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • 1 year of box or stake truck driving experience
  • High energy: the ability to work in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Detail-oriented; demonstrates accuracy and quality of work.
  • Knowledge of industry safety practices and equipment.
  • Self-starter: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible and versatile to work outside your job's scope; willing to learn.
  • Good communication / Excellent customer service skills.
  • Computer skills - MS Office proficiency to track and maintain records.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift/move 80 - 100 lbs. of materials/products frequently (50 - 75% of the time) during a shift.
  • Frequent (50-75% of the time) standing, walking, reaching at or below shoulder level, and bending throughout a shift.
  • Occasional (25 -50% of the time) climbing, twisting, and reaching overhead while working with materials and equipment.

Certificates/Licenses:
  • High School Diploma
  • Valid driver's license; good driving record is required
  • Forklift certification preferred
