Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer

The Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer is responsible for setting standards of process evaluation, establishing the strategic direction of factory and process roadmaps, driving implementation of new technologies, and helping define the metrics of success for Manufacturing Engineering. They serve as a technical and developmental mentor for the production engineering teams. The Staff Manufacturing Process Engineer's scope covers the end-to-end production process (material preparation, assembly, testing, and shipment preparation), the alignment of our global facilities, as well as the interaction of the factory with external departments. Responsibilities Process Development:Set strategic direction for process evolutionAdvise on the design, implementation, and measurement of manufacturing processesPrioritize process flexibility to accommodate rapid and diverse product turn-overContinuous Improvement: Establish standards for calculating key production metrics such as cycle time and yield ensuring consistency across business partners and satellite facilitiesMonitor global factory performance targets, control limits, and excursions to provide trend analysisLead initiatives to implement process improvementsIdentify global process bottlenecks and take action to alleviateFactory Support:Root cause and resolve factory interruptionsMonitor global sites for trends and proactively expand solutions across plantsWork with factory leadership to establish documented standards for tools/equipmentDocument, escalate, and resolve issues reported by factory teamMaintain and improve support management system (JIRA)New Product Introduction:Work with NPI Engineers to ensure factory is ready for new productsEstablish DFM and PFMEA best practices for design teamsAssess new technology, customer, and product requirementsEnsure factory is ready for changesProvide technical expertise for Manufacturing Engineering on next generation of productsFactory AutomationIdentify opportunities for automation within current and future factory processesDrive implementation of automation solutions by setting requirements and validating design directionsEstablish methods and standards for programing/training of automated solutionsPrepare new products for automationTechnical MentorshipMentor Engineering Team on best practicesWork with leadership on establishing internal metrics of successDefine the criteria required for assessing project valueAssist in determining whether projects are worth pursuingGuide engineers in defining project justificationsRequirements Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant experienceOR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent with 5+ years of relevant experienceMinimum of Six Sigma Green Belt CertificateExperience with factory simulation software, FlexSim preferredExperience with assembly automation technologiesFamiliarity with ISO 9000 standardsExperience with and passion for Continuous Improvement, Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma methodologiesCapability to apply technical expertise in changeable and varied scenariosProblem solving skills with an emphasis on collaboration and flexibilityAnalytical skills, including the ability to mine data to draw meaningful conclusionsFamiliarity with Data Analytics best practices and querying raw data setsStrong verbal and written communications skillsAbility to simplify complex issues for diverse audiencesAbility to consolidate information from numerous sources into a plan/direction for the organizationExperience with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Excel, and Word)About ZT SystemsAt ZT Systems, you'll get to do work you are proud of alongside smart, passionate people.
