San Francisco, United States All-electric California Full time

Come be a part of turning off fossil fuels We are a mission-driven construction firm, and are specialized in reducing global warming emissions in existing buildings. We select and propose sustainable systems for our clients, and then implement our proposed decarbonization and electrification projects, doing electrical, plumbing, and heat pump HVAC work, as well as incidental patching, insulation, cleaning, etc. Most of our clients are owner-occupants of residential buildings with 1-6 units. We try to accomplish our work without using too much embodied carbon in the process, and encourage workers to travel by public transit, bike, or EV.Most of our projects are medium in scope, ranging from an EV charger installation for a single-family house, to the replacement of all gas systems in a building with heat pumps and a new electrical service. Many of our projects are phased and must overlap with other projects. We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Project Manager and Client Contact to join us. Feel the joy of working towards a sustainable future As Project Manager, you will coordinate and prepare construction projects, communicate with clients and with other team members, and help resolve the surprises we invariably encounter. Some work will be done remotely, but most days will require visiting construction sites, client houses, building departments, or material suppliers. You will be the first full-time Operations/Admin staff besides the owners of the company, who are currently doing all of the administration. This means you should be comfortable working independently, and be willing to roll up your sleeves and take on responsibility. During the initial training period, you will shadow the President, until youre confident that you understand the kinds of projects we do and how to coordinate their completion.Responsibilities Communicate with teammates, clients, and city officials about active projects, in order to understand the aims and scope, and to ensure successful completionEnsure no client is left behind and that emails get responses within 24hFill out forms and obtain building permits for projects, online or in-person at various building departments in or near San FranciscoMake sure supplies are available before project start dates, both through online orders and at local supply houses (with local purchases made either by you or other employees)Visit project sites when jobs begin to ensure teams understand the work to be done and have the tools for successFor longer projects, conduct site visits to assess progress and ensure that construction is proceeding according to planAssist in project scheduling, and in setting up new clients for estimations and design servicesIf you have a background in CAD, you may also assist with drawing electrical diagrams and preparing plans and elevations (NOTE: This skill is not a requirement to apply for this job.)Required Qualifications Commitment to sustainability, both professionally and personallyBachelor's degree in Engineering, Sciences, or a related field that shows an ability to think systematically and logicallyTime management skills with the ability to independently prioritize tasksWork experience in a job requiring coordination and organizationStrong attention to detail and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalCurrently living in San Francisco or nearby cities (we are not able to relocate nor sponsor candidates)You must have a driver's license and a carPreferred additional qualifications (not required) Experience in the construction industrySpanish language skills (intermediate)Join us to help build a sustainable future#J-18808-Ljbffr
