AMI Healthcare specializes in the design, build and operations of smart hospitals, specialist medical centers and ambulatory healthcare facilities internationally. The company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its Bangkok office location responsible for leading all aspects of the financial operations and performance of the Company. This role requires relocation.

POSITION OVERVIEW.
The CFO will lead the Company's Finance & Accounting team and will play a leading role in driving business strategy and profit growth. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the CFO serves as the advisor on business and financial matters to the CEO and is responsible for co-establishing a multi-year plan the Executive Leadership Team can execute in alignment with the strategic, financial and operational vision for the Company. Other responsibilities are the development and recommendation of business and financial services to the Board of Advisers; for safeguarding the Company's assets through the establishment and administration of budgetary and other internal controls; and for the performance of analytical analysis on specific operational issues and revisions to the administrative and business systems of the Company and new project healthcare facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee, assess and manage the financial performance of the Company with long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts and develop recommendations (strategic and tactical).
  • Create and establish yearly financial objectives that align with Company's plan for growth and expansion.
  • Participate in the corporate planning, development and decision-making with an emphasis on strategic and financial management.
  • Analyze financial implications of decisions and recommendations.
  • Identify, develop and execute analysis of business activities and/or new services or projects, as appropriate.
  • Identify challenges, opportunities, and critical issues for short, medium, and long-term objectives and strategies.
  • Coordinate and strategize methods used to attain team goals.
  • Utilize forward-looking models and activity-based analyses to provide financial insight into the organizations' plans and operating budgets.
  • Explore new investment opportunities and provide recommendations on potential returns and risks.
  • Review, analyze and follow-up on monthly operating and G&A expense variances.
  • Develop and maintain monthly, quarterly and annual operating budgets in cooperation with department heads and provide confidence to Executive Leadership Team and the Board on the integrity of the budget.
  • Manage financial planning and supervise creation of reports, utilizing appropriate software and tools for budgeting and reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain regular internal and Board financial reports and presentations including weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting and forecasting analyses for both internal and external purposes.
  • Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial review and budget analysis reports for Executive Leadership Team.
  • Assist in fundraising and other ventures.
  • Oversee contracts management and related controls.
  • Stay abreast of local regulations, national and international news and trends that may impact the organization's financial operation and to ensure effectiveness and compliance for the finance functions.
  • Study, analyze and report on trends, opportunities and challenges reflected in the financial data to assist Executive Leadership Team and the Board in decision making and long-range planning.
  • Oversee the day-to-day full cycle accounting activities including sales, receipts, purchases, inventory, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger maintenance, balance sheet reconciliations, statement of activities, and cost allocation and provide recommendations.
  • Establish, utilize and maintain financial and accounting reporting systems, processes, tools and controls for complete and accurate record-keeping of company transactions performed within the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Coordinate accurate filing of all tax returns and other required reports.
  • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions including local tax laws and minimize the Company's tax exposure.
  • Supervise the accounting, business, and billing departments to ensure the proper functioning of all systems, databases and financial software. Ensure regular maintenance and backups of systems and data is performed.
  • Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for automating processes and increasing efficiency while eliminating inefficiencies.
  • Identify and ensure proper staffing to accomplish organization's financial management.
  • Interview, hire, develop, mentor, and manage accounting, business, and billing office staff and other staff as required.
  • Oversee the preparation and communication of monthly and annual financial statements.
  • Perform effective performance evaluations of direct reports in a timely manner.
  • Ensure cost analysis meets needs of the organization, including reporting and cost of operations in various divisions.
  • Oversee all aspects of daily cash management, accounts payable operations, cash flow projections. investments and cash controls.
  • Oversee cash flow planning process, monitor cash flow activities for annual operations and ensure funds availability.
  • Sign checks, authorize wires and ACH transactions.
  • Serve as organization's designated signing official on financial documents.
  • Oversee effective operation of organization's monthly billing department, ensuring all customer invoices are accurately calculated, optimal reimbursement, and compliance with all appropriate laws and regulations and company expenditure requirements.
  • Conduct ongoing surveillance of risk areas and ensure organization and its assets are appropriately protected by insurance products, including but not limited to general liability, workers' compensation, professional liability and directors' and officers' liability coverages.
  • Serve as a member of the Executive Leadership Team and strategic business partner.
  • Work directly with the CEO and other stakeholders in the development and ongoing review of the Company's mission, strategic plans, budgets, projections, resources allocation, operational plans and policies, and promote the most effective strategies for improving and maintaining organizational profitability.
  • Align financial policies and procedures with Company objectives.
  • Oversee preparations of documents for Board finance committee meetings.
  • Represent the Company to banks, financial partners, institutions, auditors, vendors, business partners and officials and maintain outstanding relationships.
  • Manage relationships with insurers, monitor and evaluate policies, and optimize risk management.
  • Remain current on audit best practices and laws regarding organization operations.
  • Select and engage auditors and consultants as necessary.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for annual audit and quarterly review activities of external auditors.
  • Work to optimize the handling of bank and deposit relationships and initiate needed strategies for improvement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience as a CFO or in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Chartered Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred.
  • Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
  • IT/ Financial Systems: extensive experience with implementation, enhancement, and automation of financial systems, tools, and processes.
  • Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
  • International experience a plus.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ BEHAVIORS
  • Expert level knowledge with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and expected to familiarize themselves with additional accounting or other related software programs, if necessary.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, negotiation, decision-making & project management skills.
  • Sound written and oral skills including ability to communicate about complex financial issues clearly and effectively to a wide variety of stakeholders with varying levels of financial expertise.
