About you and this role
Are you passionate about ensuring the safety and well-being of a workplace? As the driving force behind our hub or site, you will take the reins in championing EH&S compliance and spearheading the implementation of our safety management system. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in various fields, such as health & safety, environmental concerns, air and water quality, and industrial hygiene.
You will be the guardian of our license to operate, ensuring that our site or hub adheres to the highest standards. We are seeking an individual with not only in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in their discipline but also a solid foundation in related job disciplines.
Responsibilities
Leads implementation of global EH&S management systems.
Leads EH&S performance improvement of assigned plant(s), site, hub, and business.
Coordinates, implements, and optimizes EH&S programs and compliance programs across site/hub.
Participates in incident investigations and the corrective action process for EH&S issues and opportunities.
Performs central review of all EH&S related documents and submittals to ensure consistency and compliance goals are met.
Performs Requirements Management Work Process (RWMP) roles as needed.
Initiates and supports MOCs for EH&S programs and compliance matters as necessary.
Acts as Agency Visit protocol owner and implementer.
Manages permits including submittal of permit applications for new and modified equipment, requests for permit changes, and submittal of permit renewal applications.
Coaches, trains, and mentors EH&S technicians & Specialists
Performs site or plant gap assessments around EH&S work process implementation.
Ensures that the Environmental, Industrial Hygiene (IH), and Health and Safety aspects of operating discipline are adequate and applied to achieve EH&S performance goals. In most cases, would perform the role of section owner for the EH&S sections of operating discipline.
Must be able to perform field observations and interactions on all employees and contractors that result in positive sustainable behavior change in field execution. Actively participate in incident investigations and the corrective action process for occupational incidents and near misses.
Ensures work and emergency response activities are executed safely in alignment with Dow Life Critical Standards.
Ensures Emergency Services & Security (ES&S) work processes, standards, and procedures are effectively maintained and applied. This includes ownership of all site emergency plans/processes and security assessments.
Member of the Country Leadership Team (CLT).
Core Team Member the Country Crisis Management Team (Back up of Responsible Care Leader)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science or engineering plus EH&S&S, manufacturing or related experience required.
Preferred Skills
Familiarity with specific plant regulatory requirements (as applicable) such as OSH Law No. 6331, Environmental Law No. 2872.
Must be comfortable and competent at interfacing with external governmental organizations.
Previous people leadership experience.
Turkish is mandatory and minimum upper intermediate English level is required
