Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant will manage and maintain the general ledger balances, conducting monthly reconciliations of assigned balance sheet accounts. This role involves daily cash bookkeeping and reconciliation, supporting the annual financial audit and tax provisioning processes by preparing and providing necessary information to external consultants and auditors. The Senior Accountant will collaborate with the Senior Finance Manager to ensure the accuracy of GL balances through regular reviews and address any process improvement recommendations made by company auditors. Responsibilities also include preparing monthly key financial reports (P&L, BS) and related disclosures for group consolidation reporting in S4HANA, and coordinating with various finance functions to provide essential financial analysis. The Senior Accountant will ensure that all month-end journal entries from different finance and HR functions are posted promptly and assist in implementing technical accounting treatments as needed.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly GL reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts and maintain these reconciliations in a central repository.
  • Review balance sheet GL accounts in detail, propose necessary adjustments, and conduct regular reconciliation reviews with the Senior Accounting Manager.
  • Prepare IFRS P&L and balance sheet reports, including key disclosures for monthly group consolidation reporting using SAP4HANA.
  • Collaborate with HR, Operations, and FP&A teams to gather, post, and centrally file journal entries and their backups on time.
  • Manage central accruals and prepayments, working with business functions to ensure their accuracy and currency.
  • Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations and promptly raise any re-billings.
  • Provide support and prepare backups for information requests from auditors and external consultants.
  • Assist the Senior Finance Manager in implementing process improvements.
  • Maintain precise records of all collections efforts, adhering to legal standards and company policies.
  • Work with various departments and external parties to resolve complex debt issues.
  • Stay updated on new developments in debt collection tactics and technologies to enhance efficiency and outcomes.
  • Produce and analyze accounts receivable reports to identify overdue payment causes and offer actionable insights to management.
  • Manage relationships with third-party logistics, external agencies, and legal counsel.
  • Propose calculations for allowances for doubtful accounts and expected credit losses.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in credit and collections, with management experience preferred.
  • Deep understanding of credit and collections regulations and practices.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with a proven record of resolving outstanding debts.
  • Leadership ability, with a history of motivating teams to achieve goals.
  • Highly organized with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting data to inform decisions.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities for devising innovative solutions to collections challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for building positive relationships across various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with legal aspects of collections, including fair debt collection practices.
  • Experience with SAP is advantageous but not required.
  • Consistent record of meeting or exceeding collections targets.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and credit evaluation.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
