Notes:

Qualified candidates will have a hybrid background in both Systems and Networking. This person will assist with the design, implementation and maintenance of the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking devices, and virtualization environments. They will manage the network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure high availability, performance, and security, as well as implementing network security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cyber threats.

They are looking for someone with at least 8 -10 years of strong Systems engineering and networking experience including installation, configuration, and basic administration of in various IT organizations. Hands-on troubleshooting in a Windows/ Active Directory environments is required. So is experience with Windows Server operating systems, including Server 2016, 2019, and 2022, familiarity with databases such as SQL and Azure SQL, and a solid understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing platforms (Azure)..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking devices, and virtualization environments.
  • Manage and optimize network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
  • Develop and implement network security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, data breaches, and other cyber threats.
  • Install and configure software and hardware components as required to support the organization's IT infrastructure.
  • Manage network servers and technology tools, including server provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot issues and outages, identifying root causes and implementing solutions in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Implement access controls, backups, and firewalls to enhance system security and protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
  • Upgrade systems with new releases and models, ensuring compatibility and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, evaluate technology solutions, and implement best practices for endpoint and directory services.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement proactive measures to optimize system reliability and performance.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes using scripting languages, such as PowerShell, to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in endpoint management and Active Directory administration.
  • Serve as a backup or escalation point for Desktop Support teams, providing technical guidance and assistance as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in system engineering, network administration, or a related role.
  • Strong proficiency in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Windows/ Active Directory environments.
  • Hands-on experience with network hardware, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless access points.
  • Solid understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud computing platforms (Azure).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Relevant certifications, such as MCSE: Core Infrastructure, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent, are preferred.
  • Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator, or similar role in a complex IT environment.
  • Experience with Windows Server operating systems, including Server 2016, 2019, and 2022.
  • Familiarity with databases such as SQL and Azure SQL, including installation, configuration, and basic administration tasks.
  • Knowledge of system security principles, including intrusion detection systems and best practices for securing IT infrastructure.
  • Expert level proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy management.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, Trunking, and Performance Tuning.
  • Experience in firewall administration, including setup, administration, and management of IDS/IPS and VPNs.
  • Familiarity with Antivirus and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions, with experience in Crowdstrike being a plus.
  • Experience with on-premises and cloud-based backup solutions, with proficiency in Veeam Backup being advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Office 365) administration, including user management, license provisioning, and security configuration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure administration, including resource management, networking, and security.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Endpoint (Intune) administration for managing endpoints and enforcing security policies.
  • Experience in VMware ESX and vCenter administration, including virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation, and performance monitoring.
