Job Overview and Requirements

The Law Clerk is responsible for verification of service for various notices and pleadings. Will also do timely preparation of motions and handling of research-related assignments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for verification of service for various notices and pleadings.
  • Draft and collate various motions, including but not limited to motions for alternate service, motions to amend, motions to strike, and motions to consolidate.
  • Conduct necessary research and skip tracing efforts, including but not limited to owner verification, estate searches, and deed searches.
  • Perform legal research as assigned.
  • Attendance at work is an essential function of this position
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Successful candidates will have done well in Civil Procedure classes.
  • Ability to work as part of a team while maintaining professional working relationships with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities.
  • Strong legal reasoning, writing, and research skills.
  • Business sense and ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to contribute to positive office culture.
  • Open to feedback at all levels.
  • Demonstrated skills of poise, diplomacy and tact.
  • PC Proficient: Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), Collection Partners or a similar collections database and Internet.
  • Excellent organization, prioritization and time management skills.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Completed at least 1 year of law school.
