This Internal Auditor III is responsible for the management of the Internal Audit Section of NC DPS including special reviews, audit work paper reviews, training, and assisting in coordination of auditing functions. The position reports directly to the Internal Audit Director and will assist the Director in planning and overseeing Internal Audit functions for a department which has an annual budget approaching $1 billion accounted for in a variety of fund types. Position assists the Director in planning the day-to-day work of the internal audit staff and evaluating the effectiveness of risk management, control and the governance processes of the department. Specific responsibilities include: Collecting Tier I, II, III and III+ Subrecipient Reporting Reviewing Tier III and III+ single audit reports Conducting and completing statewide audits by specific functions, as directed by the Director Establishing of standard operating policy and direction for the Internal Audit Section Reviewing audit work papers and reports completed by audit teams and providing the Director and supervisors with review notes Representing Internal Audit management at formal audit exit conferences to apprise management of audit findings and recommendations Ensuring staff professional development Knowledge, Skills And Abilities / Competencies The Knowledge, Skills and Abilities listed below, along with the Minimum Education and Experience requirements, are REQUIRED to qualify for this position.
