Description

A Grinding Specialist I utilizes Tooling and Gaging disciplines consisting of:
  • Cylindrical Grinder
  • Surface Grinder
  • CNC Cylindrical Grinder
  • Centerless Grinder
  • Jig Grinder
  • Polishing
  • Lapping
  • Assembly
Essential Duties and responsibilities:

A Grinding Specialist I is expected to develop and gain the skills required for the advancement towards becoming a Grinding Specialist II. This position is generally held by a trainee and/or apprentice. This position is designed to assist the individual at being proficient and relied upon in the following criteria:
  • Operator under direction of Grinding Specialist II and/or III
  • Comprehensive print reading and task requirements skills
  • Verification and documentation of work performed
  • Consistently submits first pass yield of product
  • Responsibilities concerning accurate "Data Collection" reporting
  • Assignments are completed on time, within quality requirements
  • Duties are efficiently coordinated and information is effectively shared with other departments
  • Assures proper care, storage and use of all tooling
  • Maintaining PGM and department standards in good housekeeping and machinery cleanliness
  • Following department guidelines as set forth by PGM or department supervisor
  • Performing other duties as required or directed
Education and/or Experience

High School and/or GED; or one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
