The Project Accountant is responsible for preparing project financial reports, month-end files, and management information reporting. Collaborating across functions, this position ensures project leadership is well-informed about project status, risks, and achievements. The ability to multitask, be hands-on, and work independently is critical, given the daily and monthly projects that arise, often requiring immediate attention.

Essential Responsibilities / Accountabilities

Assist with the monthly closing procedures for our global consolidation Project Reporting

Manage inter-company accounting and conciliations

Produce accurate monthly accounts, including variance analysis in a timely manner

Partner with Project Management and other departments for the management and control of contract costs and profitability

Prepare project financial data and improve visibility on project costs

Manage the accounting and costing systems to ensure that all information is accurately recorded and invoiced in the ERP system

Prepare project cash flow and P&L projections

Support the Project Management team with setting up project codes, support them with their project budgets and forecasts, invoicing and revenue recognition and cost estimating

Demonstrate effective working relationships with colleagues and managers

Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.

Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions as required.

Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting. Minimum 3 years accounting experience. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel. Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently. Proven and demonstrated experience in successfully managing projects and deadlines.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

The employee regularly operates a computer, including typing, using a mouse or keyboard, and viewing the screen for extended periods. While the role does not require regular lifting or physical exertion, there may be occasional onboarding programs or training opportunities that create opportunities for more exposure to physical tasks or new environments (sites, venues, etc.)

Work Conditions Of The Role Are

Work conditions may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions. Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work within or visit areas where required. This includes, safety glasses, reflective vest, ear plugs, safety toed shoes, and other PPE as required by the location.
