We're looking for a forward-thinking Senior Mechanical Engineer to help shape the future of medical technology. You'll be part of a dynamic team, using your expertise to drive both continuous improvement of existing products and development of new products. Your role will involve equipment design and development, material testing, specification preparation, research investigations, and report preparation. This is an opportunity to gain experience and familiarize yourself with our engineering methods, independent thinking, and company practices and policies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Design and develop mechanical components for complex electro-mechanical devices, defining specifications, drawings and CAD models, as well as input on test, inspection and manufacturing methods.
  • Improve existing product designs and processes based on feedback from complaints, manufacturing or other mechanisms.
  • Manage assigned project responsibilities, including scope development, cost management, and final documentation in accordance with engineering practices.
  • Conduct and participate in technical design reviews and design verification activities.
  • Prepare and review engineering/technical documents such as reports, protocols, schedules, budgets, and vendor-provided documents and drawings.
  • Work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals.
  • Take initiative to solve complex problems, identify issues, generate alternatives, and recommend solutions.
  • Understand how to manage technical risks, avoiding serious delays and considerable expenditure of time and resources.
  • Proactively advise teammates on technical ideas and promote skill development.
  • Provide work direction to engineering support staff.
  • Handle frequent interorganizational and outside customer contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.
  • Conduct studies and make recommendations for the purchase and implementation of new technologies, practices, tools and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as all Local, State, and Federal directives, laws and regulations.
  • Actively participate in Quality System and Good Laboratory Practice requirements, particularly with respect to product documentation.
  • May include work direction responsibility for technicians and associate engineers.
  • May work with manufacturing, quality and other functional groups on manufacturing and regulatory compliance issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education
  • Bachelor's of Science degree or Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. An equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
Experience
  • Minimum 4 years experience.
  • 4+ years experience with the design, manufacture or sustaining of complex electro-mechanical devices preferred.
Skills
  • Demonstrated skills in technical innovation, technical leadership, mechanical engineering.
  • Experience with Tolerance Analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), principles of GD&T, multiple manufacturing techniques, CAD applications (Solidworks preferred), PLM/PDM system (Windchill preferred), and principles of statistical analysis.
  • Mechanical and electronic ability and aptitude to assist with troubleshooting and testing.
  • Ability to interfaces with staff, suppliers and external subject matter experts to resolve technical issues.
  • Understanding of and adherence to GMP practices and FDA regulations.
  • Knowledge and ability to implement FDA or regulatory requirements as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
Travel

Requires travel based on business needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Target Pay Range: $107,000.00 to $133,800.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 7.0%
