LHH is looking to hire a Senior Accountant for a client located in Wood Dale, IL. This is a hybrid role with 4 days onsite. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, optimizing payroll processes, and spearheading initiatives for operational efficiency. Our client has a welcoming culture, good benefits, and a healthy work-life balance.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and actively participate in the monthly close process under the guidance of the Controller.
Analyze financial reports and records, offering recommendations for improvement or addressing discrepancies.
Review and validate the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications.
Prepare precise and timely journal entries while conducting general ledger analysis, accompanied by supporting reconciliations with the team.
Review, research, and propose enhancements to analysis, reporting, systems, and processes.
Provide functional guidance and informal training to staff.
Oversee transactions for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable handled by staff.
Prepare monthly financial reports as directed by the Controller.
Coordinate accounting matters with other departments and locations.
Willing to travel up to 10%
Qualifications
3+ years' of professional accounting experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar
1-3 years of payroll experience
