Sr Internal Auditor
Since its founding in 1937, Krispy Kreme's focus has remained the same - making fresh doughnuts using our founder's original recipe. The brand's iconic Hot Light lets consumers know when doughnuts are being made in the shop so they can stop in and enjoy them hot, right off the line. The Sr. Internal Auditor will be a key member of the Global Finance team reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit, and will collaborate with team members, business process owners, and key stakeholders to achieve objectives such as evaluating risks, documenting business processes and control activities, performing test of controls, and monitoring remediation efforts. A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: Demonstrate advanced knowledge of internal controls frameworks and risk standards (e.g. COSO, SOX) and proven experience conducting and leading internal audits and SOX testing, including preparing and reviewing of workpapers to ensure quality and objectives of audits are achieved. Own, plan, and execute business process audit activities by leading walkthrough discussions, documenting process narratives and flowcharts, and recommending control design enhancements to achieve SOX compliance. Assist in development and documentation of remediation action plans for control deficiencies and process improvement opportunities that are operationally practical and achieve SOX compliance goals. Work collaboratively with other members of the team, including peers, on various ad hoc projects as well as controls testing. YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS: A minimum of three (3) years of audit or internal controls testing experience, with SOX 404, public company, or public accounting audit experience. Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant field. Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus. CPA, CIA or equivalent certification preferred. This role will have exposure to senior leadership. A successful candidate will demonstrate a confident and well-developed communication style, both written and spoken, that establishes credibility and facilitates clear understanding of audit issues and influence change where appropriate. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while adhering to tight deadlines with a focus on high quality deliverables. Advanced knowledge of internal controls frameworks and risk standards (e.g. COSO, SOX). Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and capable of adjusting planned approaches to meet evolving project needs. Ability to embrace a highly collaborative work environment, be confident in vocalizing ideas, and actively contribute to team discussions. Has a steadfast commitment to nurture an equitable, unbiased culture where our peeps are empowered to showcase their originality. *The above statements are intended to describe the general nature of work performed by the employees assigned to this job and are not the official job description for the position.
