Job Description

Responsible for environmental compliance related activities such as: performing routine functions related to a product, components or a site's environmental requirement; processes driven by environmental regulations, environmental objectives and targets; and the overall Environmental Management System (EMS). Routine functions may include the gathering of environmental data, process adherence and other related tasks.

Experience:
  • Experience in environmental monitoring and sampling.
  • Collect and enter data into management system.
  • Experience gathering information and filing of regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

Facilitates a group of cross-functional (and global as needed) stakeholders to understand the impact of compliance to regulations and other requirements to Atmus businesses.

Analyzes and communicates information to many internal stakeholders as it relates to environmental compliance matters.

Facilitates meetings and trainings on compliance.

Supports environmental projects, participating as a team member and actively contributes towards team goals.

Works with subject matter experts from related groups to support efforts to improve environmental performance or compliance processes and identify opportunities to establish common processes and tools.

Assists with internal and external environmental audits; resolves basic issues identified in audits; updates EMS documentation, as appropriate.

Escalates and drives resolution to compliance questions and issues.

Demonstrates good understanding and apply knowledge of an engineering discipline.

Applies engineering and/or scientific and/or process skills and continue to develop experience in creating engineering solutions.

Carries out partially defined and moderately complex tasks.

Uses prescribed and innovative methods and works with limited guidance.

Supports defining and executing corrective actions Supports communications with and influences key external stakeholders and business leaders, escalates compliance issues as appropriate.

Applies basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices to assigned tasks by interpreting, communicating and ensuring all environmental regulations and standards are adhered to as they impact company products, processes, components or facilities.

Supports end-users in their efforts to understand environmental requirements and collaborates with other related groups to ensure requirements are met.

Supports regulatory compliance efforts and other applicable programs.

Qualifications

Environmental Acumen - Leverages environmental topics and trends related to air, exhaust, water, waste, sustainability, and/or materials; uses environmental data to solve problems, understand business impact, protect and improve the environment while also making a positive impact in human health and well-being.

Environmental Standards and Regulations - Analyzes technical and legal documents, enabling interpretation and further communication of content resulting in clear definition of requirements to the business; works in conjunction with subject matter experts and business units to develop strategies and plans for meeting requirements; information to be shared broadly with cross functional groups within Atmus.

Environmental Regulatory Compliance - Champions compliance with environmental regulatory requirements imposed on industry by local, state, provincial, national, and international organizations including air emissions, wastewater discharges, natural resource consumption, waste generation, spill prevention and reporting, and emergency response.

Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

Action oriented - Taking on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.

Collaborates - Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.

Instills trust - Gaining the confidence and trust of others through honesty, integrity, and authenticity.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business or related technical or scientific field required.

Base salary range: $65,600 to $98,400/Year
