Job Summary

Tennessee Tech University is seeking a highly qualified individual to fill the position of Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, as well as developing an externally funded research program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in environmental engineering and related fields.
  • Establish and maintain an externally funded research program, with a focus on climate change impacts, air quality, water quality, and environmental process modeling.
  • Provide service to the department, university, and profession through participation in senior design courses, committee work, and other activities.
  • Contribute to the development of new courses and programs in environmental engineering, and participate in curriculum development and review.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary research activities and collaborations with other departments and institutions.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field by the start date of employment.
  • Potential for excellence in teaching, scholarly activities, and research.
  • Potential to develop and maintain an externally funded research program leading to national and international recognition.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • Industry experience.
  • A track record of excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly activities.
  • Evidence of grantsmanship, research, and scholarly service.
