Summary:We are looking for a skilled UL Engineer to play a pivotal role in ensuring our products meet the highest safety and compliance standards. As a UL Engineer at ebm-papst Inc., you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to navigate the complex landscape of UL certifications and compliance processes. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and facilitate the UL certification process for our diverse range of products.

Essential Functions of the Job:The essential functions of this job require the person, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform the following:

  • UL Certification Management:Lead the UL certification process for new and existing products, ensuring compliance with relevant UL standards and requirements.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with product development, engineering, and quality assurance teams to integrate UL compliance into the product design and development lifecycle.
  • Documentation:Create, review, and maintain accurate documentation related to UL testing, certification, and compliance, including test plans, reports, and technical files.
  • Testing Coordination:Coordinate and oversee product testing activities at UL laboratories, ensuring tests are conducted in accordance with applicable standards and requirements.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about changes in UL standards and regulations, providing guidance to internal teams on how these changes may impact product design and development.
  • Issue Resolution:Address any issues or non-compliance findings during the UL certification process, working collaboratively with teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Training:Provide training and support to internal teams on UL standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with UL certifications and compliance processes.
  • Knowledge of relevant UL standards and regulations, ideally UL1004-7, UL507, UL60730-1, UL60335-2-40.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
