DEKA Research & Development, located in Manchester, NH, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to participate in the development of innovative medical devices. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work as part of a team driving products through their life cycle including concept generation, prototyping, component and assembly development, testing, and associated documentation. The candidate is expected to be very self-sufficient in handling multiple sub-assembly designs simultaneously, requiring a very low level of guidance. The candidate must have excellent problem solving and analytical skills and be able to learn quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.How you will make an impact as a Senior Mechanical Engineer:Generate creative solutions to design problems and demonstrate their viability considering factors such as risk, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, weight and costTransition concepts into products using 3D CAD Solid Modeling, defining requirements, selecting materials and processes, interacting with suppliers and manufacturers, and documenting the development processTroubleshoot design failure modes to root cause and develop quick, effective solutionsCoordinate with others in a multi-disciplinary team environment including electrical, software, industrial design, and controlsEvaluate designs through prototype testing and requirement verificationReview and approve all mechanical component and assembly designs, analysis, and testingSet an excellent example of mechanical engineering practices and provide a level of mentorship to less knowledgeable engineersTo be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:BS in Mechanical Engineering required10+ years' experience designing electromechanical productsDemonstrated experience designing parts using a variety of manufacturing methods such as machining, welding, injection molding, forming, forging, and castingProficient user of SolidWorks or other comparable CAD softwareSurfacing experience a plusMust have experience producing engineering drawings and fundamental GD&T knowledgeMust have experience with finite element analysis and tolerance analysisMust have experience taking 4+ projects from design to production and the ability to describe personal contributions to each of the productsExperience designing medical equipment a plusExperience designing dynamic systems with electro-mechanical devices a plusMust be able to work in an open group environmentAbout DEKADEKA Research & Development, only one hour from the beach, Boston, and the mountains, is a unique multi-disciplinary company of makers and inventors.
