Specific job responsibilities and goals include but are not limited to:
  • Direct Care position: Supervise clients aged 10 to 17 in residential program
  • Point person for overseeing assigned shift in residential setting
  • Tasks include facility maintenance, food service, client supervision on field trips and daily activities, record keeping
  • May directly perform tasks and daily activities
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of clerical and record keeping responsibilities
  • Assess and react to potential critical situations on shift, consulting Residential Director as needed
  • Act as role model for appropriate behaviors and social interactions
  • Responsible for maintaining shift operations, staffing, paperwork, policy adherence
  • Provide direct supervision for residents, including chore scheduling and completion assistance
  • Report unusual behavior indicating potential problems
  • Maintain order and discipline among residents, utilizing Crisis Intervention techniques when trained
  • Monitor residents' whereabouts and notify law enforcement/guardian if they leave without authorization
  • Lead group discussions and plan recreational activities
  • Complete monitoring notes, runaway and incident reports, and client case records
  • Handle clerical aspects of intake process for new residents

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED:

Education and Experience: BSW/AA preferred; 2+ years of direct work experience with adolescents. Work experience in a Residential setting preferred. Florida driver's license and clean DMV record required.

Physical Requirements: Requires a high degree of physical activity including the ability to run, jump, bend, and stand for significant time periods (2+ hours), lift and carry 50+ pounds. The ability to travel on a regional basis as needed for training and transport.
