About the position

The Investment Risk and Operations Analyst plays a key role as a contributing member of the investment team. The Analyst will work closely with senior investment staff in all phases of the investment process with a special focus on quantitative data analysis, risk reporting, and operation related support. The position is a two-year appointment with the possibility of an additional third-year extension (based on performance).

Primary responsibilities
  1. Assists in evaluating managers, investment ideas and opportunities in a wide range of asset classes. Assembles data and develops analytical tools to assist in decision making.
  2. Leads development of performance materials for the investment team and Investment Committee.
  3. Maintains and reconciles daily cash activity between custodian and investments. Leads cash planning process using liquidity models to forecast short and long-term cash needs. Ensures daily cash drawdown threshold is not breached. Recommends and executes cash investment strategies to optimize cash position and performance returns.
  4. Oversees custodian and counterparty processes related to derivative and direct security trading. Monitors derivative positions to ensure credit thresholds are within policy limits and collateral is called and returned per established credit limits.
  5. Develops working knowledge of processes required to calculate portfolio's performance and in-depth analysis of performance metrics. Assists in developing alternative methods to improve efficiency and to advance existing models. Develops deep understanding of investment team's systems used to manage and report large quantities of portfolio data.
  6. Complies with procedures to protect the Foundation's assets regarding cyber related fraud.
  7. Strong commitment to the Foundation's mission and values with the ability to demonstrate that commitment in daily interactions.
  8. Pursue the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) credential by completing all three levels of the CFA Program.


Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree. Preferably in a business-related field.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable working with large data sets.
  • Intellectually curious with strong self-study skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling concepts.
  • Positive team attitude.
This position is full-time. The salary for this position is $83,224.00 per year.
