Job Overview We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to join the BigRio consulting team to deliver projects to our clients. Key technical skills are Microsoft stack (.Net/Core) / Azure back-end Ninja / Architect level developer with very strong DB and SQL development skills and experience working with modern front-end frameworks such as Angular or React. This will be mostly a back-end position but with full-stack opportunities if so inclined. The candidate needs to be a team player willing, able, and enjoying coaching more junior teammates and having an uplifting influence on the team. In this role, you will be accountable for the successful delivery of specific portions of software architecture, technical solutions, and related platform services. You will be the technical leader and solution specialist for the assigned application development and software engineering backlogs that focus on enhancing the features and capabilities of our online technologies and service platforms. You will work closely with the leadership team and business stakeholders to deliver software and IT services that meet user needs. The candidate will demonstrate proven expertise in developing enterprise-scale web-based solutions using industry-recognized cloud platforms (e.g. Azure or AWS), backend (.NET/Core), and frontend technologies (e.g. Angular or React). Our team enjoys challenges and potential for redefining what the healthcare service management experience can be. Responsibilities and Duties · Architect and develop high volume, scalable server-side features utilizing .NET, C#, SQL, and MS Azure. · Participate in full life-cycle software development including requirement and specification analysis, software design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance. · Contribute to the evolution of the Client’s software architecture and design. · Collaborate with business and technology teammates to analyze functional and technical specifications and decompose them into testable units of work. · Model and document appropriately to support various software analysis, design, construction, and test activities. · Employ leading-edge technology and software development principles to construct code that is optimized for high-volume traffic and industry-leading customer experiences. · Write comprehensive automated unit/integration tests against interfaces and functional requirements. · Respond to inquiries from business stakeholders, customer support, and internal customers regarding functions and operation of software and systems. · Coordinate development activities within an agile development environment. · Review solution designs, conduct code reviews, and provide feedback to the team. · Support project planning by providing technical details on tasks, estimates, resource projections, and project preparations. · Help to create and maintain a forward-looking technology roadmap and work with IT leadership and others to attain milestones on said roadmap. · Maintain source control and change management. · Perform root-cause analysis to identify and fix program bugs and issues. · Establish and enforce coding and architectural standards. · Mentor less experienced engineers on technologies and coding practices. · Prepare architecture and technical design documentation. · Lead special projects as needed. Qualifications · Bachelor’s degree in IT preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree. · Extensive experience in web development technologies, cloud systems design, and development of web solutions using Microsoft Stack (Azure, SQL, C#, ASP.NET/Core, Angular). · 12+ years of web application development with ASP.NET, MVC, C#, TypeScript, and JavaScript. · 10+ years of strong working knowledge of back-end development and strong SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, LINQ and Entity Framework. · 8+ years of hands-on development of, and with REST APIs, JSON, Web Services etc. · 5+ years of working experience with frontend technologies for HTML, JavaScript framework (such as Angular or React) and CSS framework/technologies (such as Bootstrap / SASS, LASS) · Working Experience with Atlassian JIRA/Confluence and Azure DevOps · Knowledge of Postman, Swagger, Selenium is a plus. · Master in OOA/D and N-tier systems design and development best practices. · Master in database design and development principles. · Experience with unit and integration testing and automated testing tools. · Strong communication and leadership skills · Must have excellent verbal, written, and problem-solving skills. · Must demonstrate flexibility and excellent organizational skills with the ability to complete a variety of tasks accurately with high attention to detail and creativity. · Intense desire to learn. · Ability to maintain confidentiality.
