The Director of Accounting will be responsible for planning, directing, and modernizing the accounting and finance operations of various entities within the hospitality industry which includes subsidiaries of retail Sal's Pizza stores, full-service restaurants, mobile food trucks and food production operations. A successful Director of Accounting will also function as a strategic partner to the Director of Hospitality, CFO and CEO while leading and managing the hospitality accounting team to ensure adherence to accurate financial reporting, quality industry standards, deadlines, and proper procedures. Primary Job Responsibilities: * Monitor day-to-day financial operations in our various restaurants across the Merrimack Valley, along with our wholesale production facility in southern New Hampshire. * Oversee bank accounts, A/P, A/P, financing, general ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and State and Federal regulatory requirements. * Plan, schedule, and manage the annual budget process. Present and obtain budget approval. * Manage all financial reporting for all hospitality subsidiaries. * Collaborate with the Operational Leaders, General Managers and District Managers at the various hospitality/food manufacturing locations to consistently meet financial objectives. * Manage an accounting team which includes undertaking training and personal development as necessary to meet organizational objectives. This also includes defining roles, scope of responsibility and distribution of work as needed. * Analysis of the operations of restaurants and food manufacturing trends to create and execute sustainable systems and solutions pertaining to production efficiency and cost gaps. * Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual hospitality financial statements, including balance sheet, P&L, variances and statements of cash flow and equity for internal and external stakeholders. * Collaborate with operational leaders on procedures to consistently minimize food waste and labor costs across all hospitality entities. * Assess and evaluate financial performance of the hospitality entities regarding long-term operational goals, budgets, forecasts, and industry benchmarks. * Evaluate and drive improvements across finance operations to support company growth. * Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures and control over accounting transactions to minimize risk. * Ensure the relationship with banks and other financial institutions (administration, auditors, legal counsel, etc.) as necessary. * Assist the CFO with maintenance of the financial forecast and cash flow models following month-end close. Requirements * B.S. in Accounting or Finance; MBA or CPA certification preferred. * Extensive experience in the hospitality/food manufacturing industry required. * Minimum of 10 years of experience, with at least 6 years in a managerial role. * Thorough knowledge of hospitality/food production accounting principles. * Experience with hospitality software including Restaurant 365 and Sage with a strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively interpret operational and financial data. * Excellent communication, organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all departments and levels of the company. * Proven leadership abilities, including the ability to motivate and inspire a team to achieve shared goals. * Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. * Must be extremely detail oriented and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and self-motivation. * Demonstrated commitment to compliance with all laws, regulations, and business ethics. * Commitment to continuous learning and professional development to stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in hospitality accounting.
