Description

The role of Container and Shipping Manager is a key position within the Riverfarm organization which oversees the production or our containerized plant material along with ensuring the efficient and timely shipment of material to our customers during the harvest seasons.

Responsibilities for accomplishing the above goals are listed below:
  • Fulfill the production plan
  • Ensure correct production practices are employed
  • Assist in inventory maintenance
  • Apply necessary pesticides to ensure exceptional plant health
  • Oversee employees directly involved in container production and shipping
  • Working with the Inside Sales Assistant, coordinate loading of orders
  • Ensure all plants are loaded properly, minimizing credits
  • Organize the loading yard for prompt and accurate loading
  • Assist General Manager in various trials as needed
Qualifications

Requirements:
  • GED or high school diploma required
  • BS in Horticulture or related field or 3 years experience in the industry preferred
  • Basic understanding of Spanish preferred, but not required
  • General computer applications
  • Communicate tasks effectively
  • Receive and perform instructions accurately
  • Highly Organized
  • Perform during periods of high workload
  • Eager to learn the industry and become more independent in daily tasks
  • Excellent attendance
