Airswift is working in partnership with a publicly traded manufacturer of nonwovens as roll goods for wipes as well as for medical and hygiene products, which is currently looking to hire a Sourcing Manager for their facility in Connecticut, South Carolina or Wisconsin

This is a brand new role created to help increase the company's bench strength, joining a global team of 6 other individuals supporting the entire company's sourcing and procurement needs. The Sourcing managers' priorities will be to focus on effectively synthesizing market data, and internal needs and data, to deliver a total lowest cost solution to the business. Whilst this position may occasionally support global needs, the Sourcing Manager will primarily focus on identifying the sourcing needs and priorities of the individual sites in the US. Further, the Sourcing Manager will effectively project manage execution of these activities, leading cross-functional teams and effectively influencing without managing. The Sourcing Manager will also need to have a good understanding of total quality, building on and effectively applying the company's current quality processes.

Primary Job Duties:

• Manage effective sourcing activities of needed materials and/or services in the US and occasionally globally to ensure efficient, safe, reliable and cost-optimized raw materials and services • Develop and implement innovative approaches to sourcing arrangements that minimize costs and commercial risk, deliver identified cost savings and improve the quality of the supply chain • Analyze and evaluate raw material market trends to ensure that sourcing is based on best practice intelligence and suppliers are selected based on sound criteria • Undertake supplier mapping and market-sounding exercises of key suppliers to help develop effective supplier relationships • Manage ongoing relationships with suppliers, and negotiate contracts/agreements to minimize costs and ensure the organization receives industry-leading standards of service • Contribute to the development of the organization’s overall supply and logistics plan and establish sourcing budgets, plans, policies, systems, and procedures that will achieve these objectives and support the company's strategic goals • Provide expertise and commercial knowledge within own responsibility area to produce high-quality professional scoping and forecasting reports • Support product development activities regarding new product development through the identification of quality suppliers to meet launch date, quality, and cost/margin requirements • Develop and implement strategies in areas of responsibility to help improve the quality of the supply chain and reduce the total cost of procurement. Also must work closely with the production sites of responsibility to ensure supply continuity and meeting customer demand. • Development of suppliers to meet company objectives regarding quality, delivery, cost, cash, sustainability and overall support. Must be a driver of the Suominen savings program to establish aggressive savings targets and a path to achieve them. The individual must be results-oriented and understand the financial and operational requirements and measures of a continuous process manufacturing organization as well as be able to identify and implement continuous improvements in support. • Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making to develop and implement sourcing, procurement and supply chain strategies that are aligned with the business objectives, • Manage a diverse supply base comprised of various commodities/categories. Analyze and evaluate markets and supplier trends to support negotiation of supplier contracts including price, term, delivery, quality, and cost performance. • Coordinate the implementation of cost reduction initiatives to maximize savings and minimize risk associated with the continuity of supply. • Monitor supply base performance and communicate with suppliers. Maintain open communication with suppliers to communicate changes in business processes, market demands, Corrective Actions, and support the development and implementation of process improvements. • Support R&D activities regarding new product development through the identification of quality suppliers to meet the launch date, quality, and cost/margin requirements; Promote ESI (Early Supplier Involvement) to assist in product design and requirements, and reduce launch time by including supply partners from the initial design stage. • Establish supply chain processes that can better support our operations and meet challenging market and working capital objectives • Understand and facilitate Sustainability targets and actions with the supply base to meet corporate and customer requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree • Minimum 3 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing or Procurement • Experience with MRP systems • Proven experience with Sourcing processes with focus on negotiations, supplier management and development, and contract management and development. • Ability to travel to suppliers and Suominen sites globally (10-15%) • Project Management aptitude and experience, with ability to provide specific examples • Ability to identify, establish and implement strategic goals and priorities • Able to work independently but also as part of a team • Strong interpersonal and written skills • Desire to challenge the status quo • Initiative to implement change

Desirable Skills and Experience:

• Nonwovens, pulp, textile or chemical experience • Master’s degree • Certifications such as APICS or ISM / CPIM • Strong Microsoft Office skills • SAP experience
