This position will work closely with
the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations (OCED) which is a multi-technology office responsible for overseeing more than $27B of investment in large scale demonstrations in emerging technologies such as clean hydrogen, carbon capture, advanced nuclear reactors, grid-scale energy storage, industrial emissions reductions as well as demonstrations in rural and socioeconomically disadvantaged regions.
This position is remote, with the expectation that candidates can work during Eastern Time Zone office hours. Residency in the United States is a mandatory requirement.
Job Responsibilities:
Conduct independent engineering / due diligence technical advisory reviews of cost and schedule aspects of clean energy technologies and projects.
Able to evaluate the expected or actual functionality and performance of cost and schedule aspects of projects.
Identify key gaps / needs as it relates to the cost and schedule aspects of projects.
Identify project risks and risks mitigants of projects.
Articulate recommendations for improvement (when necessary).
Work in teams and independently to provide engineering expertise on cost and schedule aspects of clean energy projects.
Draft independent engineering / due diligence reports on evaluated projects costs and schedule.
Able to draft a data table and risk table (as part of an independent engineering / due diligence report or otherwise).
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication – communicating succinctly and clearly.
Develop labor and material cost estimates and schedules for technology projects.

Liaise with a variety of stakeholders when providing engineering expertise (e.g., clients, EPC contractors).
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or closely related field required.
Comprehensive background in developing Class 1 Cost estimates in accordance with AACE International and project controls scheduling using Primavera P6 for large Industrial Design and Construction Projects.
Have experience in the clean energy, renewable energy, or power generation industries preferred.
Experience providing independent engineering, technical advisory, or due diligence.
Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience.
Registration as a CCC/CCE is desired but not required.
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
