Reviews field surveys to interpret information required for the design and construction of public works projects Reviews plans for public works projects for compliance with standards Prepares engineering reports, basis of design reports, and regulatory compliance filings, ensures that reports are detailed, methodical, and provide clear logic for engine Reviews permit applications for proposed utility installations and/or construction; issues recommendations to supervisors on effects to existing or proposed utilities or rig Acts as liaison between City and consulting engineers, utility companies, engineering firms, and/or city departments engaged in construction Assists in the supervision of inspection of public works projects, including, but not limited to roads, bridges, water supply systems, streetlights, sanitary sewer systems, a Performs related work as required Communicates clearly, concisely, and comprehensibly in both written and verbal format Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering with one (1) year full-time paid civil engineer experience. OR Florida registered Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) with one (1) year full-time paid Civil engineer experience

Physical Requirements:

Must have the use of sensory skills in order to effectively communicate and interact with other employees and the public via the telephone and personal contact Physical capability to effectively use and operate various items of office related equipment, such as, but not limited to, word processor, calculator, copier, and fax machine Ability to stand, walk, move, or kneel may be required to perform duties Physical capability to effectively use field inspection instruments including, but not limited to: cameras, levels, measuring tapes, survey tools, measuring rods, measuring wheels, and paper, bound, or electronic inspection forms/books.
