Position Summary:

The Inpatient Hospitalist Coordinator is responsible for completing non-clinical tasks related to supporting the Hospitalist Program, assisting Hospitalists and Hospitalist groups with administrative duties. These include performing all necessary functions working directly with the physicians and Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program to ensure accuracy and patient safety

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

Facilitates the hospitalist staffing scheduling for Hospitals and Skilled Nursing Facilities. Facilitates day to day management of the Hospitalist Program from the administrative office. Works cooperatively with the Medical Director of the Hospitalist Program to manage the Hospitalist network. Plan and schedule monthly hospitalist meetings as directed by the Medical Director or CMO Works in collaboration with hospitalist physician team to ensure that care is provided in the most efficient manner. Identifies issues with Hospitalist Program; assisting with process improvement. Set appointments internally and externally with providers. Generates correspondence, upon request, to providers. Prepare/Maintain monthly hospitalist meeting minutes/agenda. Coordinating weekly and monthly coverage for multiple hospitals with the same physicians to utilize their time as the daily census changes. Coordinating and communicating physicians PTO schedules with appropriate colleagues and Medical Directors. Review and check for accuracy all independent contractors invoicing for submittal to finance. Liaison between Hospitalists program and answering service to resolve issues and questions. Assisting Hospitalists and Hospitalist groups with administrative duties such as:

Processing expense reports for accuracy Medical licensing, DEA, CME reimbursement Main contact for questions and any issues for the Hospitalists, employed and contracted Pagers – assigning, exchanging and repairing Lab Coats – primary contact for ordering, managing, laundry Prescription pad requests Death Certificates Hospitalist mail Correspondence from hospital Prepare daily census for inpatient acute hospital admission rounds. Assist with answering phone calls. Project coordination for the medical directors and hospitalists as needed. Transcribe minutes for monthly quarterly hospitalist meetings. Responsible for scheduling meetings with hospitalist medical directors as requested, and quarterly. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $22.00 - $25.00 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.

The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

High school graduate required; Associate in Arts degree preferred. 2+ yrs of Healthcare and Managed Care preferred. Typing 60 words per minutes with accuracy. Knowledge of computers, faxes, printers and all other equipment. Proficient in MS Office programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Access and Power Point).
