Strategically partner with leadership to ensure alignment of direction and financial decisions. Partner with Corporate Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Legal, Tax, and other stakeholders to understand, analyze, and provide support for complex accounting matters. Monitor regulatory trends, providing guidance and documentation on technical accounting decisions from the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Review new Accounting Standards Updates (ASUs) issued by the FASB and assist with implementation as needed. Evaluate current accounting practices and policies to drive continuous improvement. Provide support to the external reporting function, ensure financial statements and disclosures adhere to accounting principles generally accepted in the U.S. (U.S. GAAP). Prepare and review required quarterly and memos and analyses in support of external audits. Work closely with external auditors, resolving any technical accounting issues in a timely manner. Review new or amended contracts and related accounting impacts. Oversee and/or participate in special projects as needed. Organize and lead training sessions on accounting topics as needed.
