Job Description: With minimal supervision from high-level engineers, a successful Program Design Engineering 3 (PDE) candidate works independently and cooperatively with other engineering teams and vendors to convert proposals into complex, detailed designs within 60 days of contract award that satisfy specific customer requirements. The PDE delivers accurate manufacturing-level documentation based on templates and guides of RF base station equipment, RF antenna subsystems, microwave links, IP networks, 911 dispatch, interoperability, or other custom subsystems that meet customer and contractual requirements. The candidate shall be able to provide mentorship to other members of the design team, modify engineering program schedules and manage their work budgets. The candidate will be involved in technical planning and design of functional verification tests, performance validation, cutover/transition plans, process improvement vs cost/risk analysis, and identify possible challenges in the as-sold design and offer potential solutions. The PDE 3 candidate will be capable of running small to medium programs on their own with minor assistance from higher-level engineers. Essential Functions: Lead a team of engineers on small to medium turnkey LMR radio systems. Design, document creation, and equipment ordering for IP-Based radio system networks. Following established ISO processes via tollgate system. Manage submittal timelines and personal budgets within program team constraints. Lead internal factory testing of designed radio system. Up to 20% Travel may be required. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree and minimum 4 years prior relevant experience OR Graduate Degree and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Experience integrating LMR systems from proposal to acceptance. Detail-oriented. Strong communication / organization skills. Proficient in MS Office. Ability to deliver customer presentations and technically manage subcontractors / vendors. #J-18808-Ljbffr
