Position Summary:Responsible for accurately and safely locating underground utilities (telecommunications, electric, cable TV, gas, water, sewer), marking locations, completing paperwork, and photographing for crews.Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.Review and interpret existing service cards and/or as-built records for pertinent information to locate and mark-out existing utilities.Access and download additional information as needed from Utility/Local Distribution Company (LDC) web-based database, or if not available, research in the LDC Maps and Records Dept.Utilize utility locating equipment to determine the location of existing services through both conductive and inductive methods.Indicate locations of existing utilities using paint and/or flags in accordance with industry standards.Adhere to Dig Safe and Call Before You Dig (CBYD) regulations.Performs other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required.Supervisory Responsibilities: N/AHiring Requirements:High School diploma or equivalent.2+ years of experience in locating or utility construction. Skilled in Microsoft Office, web browsers, and mobile internet applications.Must be available for overtime, some weekends, and travel throughout New England as needed.Dependable and Independent. Able to work unsupervised for extended periods of time.Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret maps and civil plans.Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle shifting priorities and solve problems in a fast-paced environment.Ability to pass written tasks and associated Operator Qualification tests when applicable.OSHA 10 Construction Certification, or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company provided online training).Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen. Ability to obtain and maintain a valid unrestricted Driver's License.
