Environmental and Sustainability Manager

for our Global EHSQ organization. In this role, you will take responsibility for managing, developing, implementing and executing a wide range of environmental activities locally, regionally and globally. Your focus areas would be to lead and develop environmental management in the Americas region, where include both North and South America. You also will be part of our Global EHSQ organization in which you will bring your expertise in environmental management and sustainability to develop Kemira’s overall environmental and sustainability management to meet future challenges. This role reports to VP, EHSQ and will be preferably in our Americas headquarters in Atlanta. You will have the flexibility to organize your work between office and remote, in a hybrid work culture.

The

key responsibilities will include:As a member of Global EHSQ team, you will support the team in several environmental management developments and executionManage and develop Kemira environmental management to ensure full compliance with regulationsDevelopment of environmental data and collection from Kemira sites, including data analysisSustainability reporting and collaborating in Kemira’s internal and external reporting in matrix organizationBeing a part of Kemira’s ESG data management development workFollowing the existing as well as developing related legal frameworks; providing guidance to the Americas regionClose collaboration with relevant regional Kemira functions & segments which includes manufacturing, sourcing, product lines and R&DSustaining and developing Kemira’s ISO 14001 management system as part of Global environmental team and being a part of Kemira internal audit team

What you’ll bring to the team:At the minimum, a Bachelor level university degree preferably in environmental sciences, chemistry, engineering, biology or other applicable field along with good technical and commercial understanding.Minimum 5 years of experience in chemical industry or other process industry or consultancy of these industries.Experience in mandatory and voluntary Sustainability reporting frameworks like GRI, CDP and EcoVadisData analysis skills using sustainability software and/or other BI tools (like Sphera SCCS)Experience in environmental regulations and implementation in manufacturing industryExperience in sites liability processes and remediationExperience in ISO 14001 EMS management and auditingExperience in project related ESG evaluations associated with M&As and investmentsStrong team player with the ability work independentlyProblem solving skillsGood proven performance in project management in matrix organizationGood communication and training skillsFlexibility to travel (approximately 10% - 20%)Additional languages besides English would be beneficial
