Job Summary and Qualifications Under general supervision of the AVP of Musculoskeletal Services in collaboration Surgical Services, the Ortho/Spine Care Coordinator provides patient care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Medical Center of Lewisville. In collaboration with the medical staff, patients, patients family and other members of the health care team, the coordinator is responsible for utilizing a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to coordinate the care of all orthopedic patients. In addition, the coordinator may also be responsible for assessing the therapy needs of patients (and in collaboration with Nursing Services, assessing the nursing needs of patients), planning interventions and evaluating outcomes of care. The coordinator collaborates with Nursing/Rehab Management in addition to providing oversight in their absence and provides direct care within their scope and practice and delegate/collaborate care with other disciplines and non-licensed staff as it relates to the outcome and care of the orthopedic patient. The Ortho/Spine Care Coordinator is responsible for providing care consistent with Medical City Lewisvilles policies, procedures and standards of practice.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Current Texas RN licensure - RN or RN Compact State License OR Current Texas PT/PTA/OT licensure
  • BCLS certification
  • Clinical experience in the care and management of the orthopedic patient preferred
  • Advanced Certification in Acute Orthopedics or related certification recommended (but not required)
  • Must have minimum of 5 years recent clinical nursing or therapy experience in area of practice related to orthopedics
