Patient Financial Counselor - Financial Assistance Processing Department at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center & Children's Hospital in Spokane, WA

Responsible for a variety of tasks related to the counseling of in-house hospital patients on their payment obligations with the goal of securing the financial outcome appropriate for each patient. This includes, but is not limited to formal Financial Counseling, identification of third party resources available for financial assistance, help with various financial applications, obtaining commitments for payment, and collection of amounts due at the time of service.

Required qualifications:
  • Computer and/or data entry experience
Preferred qualifications:
  • College education in medical office, medical information or related medical business field
  • 2 years of hospital or medical business office functions experience
  • Medical insurance and third party payer requirements experience
  • Microsoft Office applications experience including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Customer Service experience
  • Financial Counseling experience
  • Web-based software experience
