Enabled by our proprietary drug discovery platform, Deciphera has developed a diverse pipeline of wholly-owned drug candidates. QINLOCK (ripretinib) is Deciphera’s switch control inhibitor developed for the treatment of fourth-line GIST. QINLOCK is approved in Australia, Canada, China, the European Union, Hong Kong, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United States, and the United Kingdom. We wholly own QINLOCK and all of our drug candidates with the exception of a development and commercialization out-license agreement for QINLOCK in Greater China. In addition to QINLOCK, we have identified and advanced multiple product candidates from our platform into clinical studies, including vimseltinib and DCC-3116.

Associate Director, Accounting Gross Margin reporting to the Director, Commercial Finance will support the company’s Commercial Finance function and lead a broad range of cost accounting operations to support the company’s first product on the market, QINLOCK and prepare for multiple product launches planned over the next several years.
This role will work with stakeholders across company, including Commercial Operations, Market Access, Marketing, Supply Chain and Technical Operations.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in a fast- paced high growth environment. Excellent communication, leadership and technical skills will be essential for this role as well as a passion to be a part of the company’s growth.
The successful candidate will have experience in the bio-pharmaceutical industry. S/he will possess strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with Accounting and Commercial counterparts on all aspects of Revenue Reporting. Includes working with multiple data systems, reviewing sales orders to determine gross-to-net assumptions (government rebate programs, returns reserve and other adjustment to revenue).
Provide Financial Leadership on all commercial operating expenses. Partner and build relationships to adequately understand commercial initiatives that drive overall commercial plan. Provide guidance on and quantify financial implications of business decisions.
Perform monthly close activities including:
Preparation of accrual and revenue and inventory related journal entries
Develop and maintain applicable schedules for commercial activities
Support Accounting and reconcile related balance sheet account
Develop, implement, and maintain internal cost accounting policies and procedures
Ensure SOX compliance for responsible area, including the development and implementation of improvements to current controls
Drive cost accounting operations including standard cost modeling, inventory valuation, and accounting close procedures and controls, ensuring financial accuracy
Act as a key contributor in the development of Cost Accounting strategy and operationalize the strategy within assigned area.
Oversee and manage inventory valuation and standard costing processes, as well as other key judgements.
Drive timely results to internal and external customers and partners
At least 8 years of relevant work experience.
Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical business including drug development and commercialization.
Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles
Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing “right-sized” processes.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including ability to develop strategic frameworks to facilitate decision making around complex opportunities.
Flexibility and ability to leverage ad hoc financial opportunities and innovative thinking to adapt to rapidly evolving situations and fulfill challenging timelines.
Strong analytical & financial modeling skills (product forecasts, P&L, NPV models, etc.).
Experience leading and motivating cross-functional teams, and ability to deliver on project timelines, progress, and outcomes in small company/startup environments.
Excellent communications skills, in writing and orally, including presentation to senior executives and board.
Strong technology skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
