Job Functions:
  • Assists with Occupational Tax Certificate and Alcohol License maintenance and renewals when needed.
  • Processes or assists with bi-weekly payroll for approximately 300+ employees, including payroll taxes, 941 reporting and W-2's at year end.
  • Assists with accounts payable; performs customer service and cashier duties in the collection of taxes, fees for licenses, rental charges and payments for purchases of the city owned cemetery lots and other miscellaneous revenues; prepares checks and submits for review and approval when needed.
  • Assist in reconciliations of funds and bank accounts.
  • Assists citizens and vendors with questions at the counter and by phone as back-up; responds to more complex inquiries and/or complaints; collects and researches financial records and information.
  • Prepares, maintains, and updates a variety of financial records and files.
  • Prepares periodic financial, statistical, or operational reports as assigned; prepares and maintains various spreadsheets for general ledger reconciliation purposes such as liability accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivables.
  • Assist Accountant with month-end closing and Finance staff with annual audit.
  • Assists Finance staff as needed or assigned.
  • Oversees and participates in file management and record retention; maintains records of stored documents.
Qualifications:
  • Associates/Technical degree with coursework in accounting, or related field
  • Moderate experience in an automated fiscal or accounting environment, preferably in the public sector, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Selected candidate will be required to successfully complete Background check, Motor vehicle history, and Pre-employment drug screen.

Competitive pay based on experience, education and skill level.
