Summary:

Paid Advertising Managers at ChoiceLocal are responsible for managing and developing strategies for all channels/products, including but not limited to: Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Facebook, and Local Service Ads for our partners and are responsible for guiding the career path of up to 5 Paid Advertising team members. They are

subject matter experts

in paid advertising marketing strategies. They are both practitioners who implement winning strategies, and strategists who drive innovation, challenge best practices, and find untapped opportunity. They regularly assist with client calls of multiple Account Teams with meetings led by the Account Executive and Director and must be able to effectively communicate with partners independent of the Account Director. A significant portion of this role involves being able to communicate and educate complex paid advertising marketing strategies to partners. This includes designing tests and identifying new opportunities to reduce wasted cost and increase conversions for our partners. It also includes orchestrating the entire advertising approach, everything from ads to landing pages, to spot-checking forms. Paid Advertising Managers set the standard of excellence and work with the Sr. Director of Digital Media to define Best Practices for the Account teams they support. Paid Advertising Managers serve in a support capacity for Paid Advertising Specialists, Strategists, Account Executives, and Account Directors on the same brand team. It is critical that Paid Advertising Managers never stop implementing, executing, learning, testing, and teaching.

Key Responsibilities:

Independently and autonomously complete assigned tasks for your primary book of business and brand/industry in a way that is (1)

thoughtful of the intent

of the task (2)

attentive to details

of execution (3)

leaves time for questions

or roadblocks (4)

inline with priorities

of the Account Executive and Paid Search Manager. Create great partner results by building out, optimizing, and managing assigned partners by (1)

checking program performance at once/week

for all clients and (2) proposing an

intervention plan

for underperforming locations (3)

independently addressing specific parts of each program that are not performing to expectation. ChoiceLocal’s success is driven in large part by proven approaches and technologies, Paid Advertising are responsible for (1)

proper use of project management

and file sharing software, (2) adherence to

Best Practices , (3)

adherence to deadlines

and (4)

spot checking completed tasks

for thoughtful and correct completion of work . Learn, Test, and Teach (1) identify PPC techniques that could create for our partners and

LEARN

more about them, (2)

TEST

those strategies and techniques in a controlled and structured way and (3)

TEACH

team members from the outcomes (good or bad) of those tests. (4) RUN two Learn, Test, Teach, each quarter and assist with monthly tests that drive best practices. Think strategically and act as a sounding board for the Paid Advertising Director as necessary, always

respectfully reject any course of action that would lead to inferior results for partners . Set up bi-monthly performance meetings with Account Executives/Account Directors to review their book of partners/brand/industry performance. Assist with partner calls and up-sells alongside the Account Executive/Account Director. Develop Best Practices, tests, and strategy for partners and network wide to determine better processes or strategies for your book of business and industry. As the Paid Advertising Manager, you will assist the Paid Advertising Director Account Director, and Sales team for an Account with communicating ChoiceLocal’s strategy to the Account’s client team. This will include being on meetings with the corporate team as well as being the “go-between” for ChoiceLocal and the corporate team. Be prepared to professionally and candidly provide strategy feedback/advice to corporate team as needed. Assist in monitoring monthly KPI’s and developing strategy for your primary brand/industry. Paid Advertising Managers are the beating heart of ChoiceLocal. They must live up to ChoiceLocal’s high standards for leadership, including (1) monitoring and

protecting team morale , (2) listening to and

deliberately soliciting feedback , (3)

rolling up their sleeves

to help their team and (4)

taking accountability for your actions , and for the actions of others to avoid Team Members from feeling “thrown under the bus” (5) Train new PPC Specialists during Onboarding and be available to them as a resource (6) Guide the work of up to five team members. Paid Advertising Managers must always FIGHT for their partners, they must (1) fight to

find solutions that create results , even if it seems hopeless, (2) push through difficult situations with

honesty, integrity, and optimism

and (3)

always see the best

in our Partners and Team Members, especially in moments when they may not be at their best. Paid Advertising Managers create results for our partners through the skilled application of specialized knowledge. They must (1) continue to

to the work we do – the wellbeing of our partners and their families depend on it Because Paid Advertising Managers are in service both of our Partners and our Team Members, they will be responsible for achieving high rankings of satisfaction from Team Members in anonymous surveys by (1)

taking team member feedback to heart and improving , (2) going above and beyond to

deliver results for partners , (3) keeping our core value of

amazing customer service

(as it applies to our Team Members) in mind when completing and responding to requests. Support results for all teams in an Account to ensure they are hitting their KPI goals and help establish an action plan for teams not hitting these goals. A Paid Advertising Manager’s expertise in the Account/network will be key in providing this feedback and strategy. Paid Advertising Managers must be effective managers and coaches for the Paid Advertising Specialists that report to them, this includes (1) regular and useful monthly factbook meetings, (2) coaching and honest feedback given in annual reviews and (3) identifying performance deficits and issuing performance improvement plans (4) working with leadership for termination, if necessary, of team members. Paid Advertising Managers are managers and role models for the Paid Advertising Specialists that they work with. They must live up to ChoiceLocal’s high standards for leadership, including (1) monitoring and protecting team morale, (2) listening to and deliberately soliciting feedback, (3) rolling up their sleeves to help their team, (4) setting clear expectations and accountabilities with Paid Advertising Specialists and (5) providing professional coaching to Paid Advertising Specialists as appropriate. ChoiceLocal’s success is driven in large part by proven approaches and technologies, Paid Advertising Managers are responsible for ensuring the Paid Advertising Specialists on their team is following these conventions, which include (1) proper use of project management and file sharing software, (2) adherence to Best Practices, (3) adherence to deadlines and (4) spot checking completed tasks for thoughtful and correct completion of work. As a direct manager, Paid Advertising Managers are the first point of escalation for any question or concern related to training, onboarding, or administrative procedure. They will take these questions and concerns seriously and respond or connect the Specialist to a team member who can help as quickly as they reasonably can.
