The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Director of Finance and will be instrumental in supporting the company's growth. Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and maintaining accurate financial records. Audit Preparation: Lead the preparation for external audits, ensuring all documentation and financial records are accurate and readily available. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations based on financial analysis. Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax filings and financial reporting standards. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements within the accounting function and implement best practices to increase efficiency and accuracy. Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial support and insights, including cost analysis, margin analysis, and financial planning. Special Projects: Participate in and lead special projects as assigned by the Director of Finance. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a senior accounting role. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights. Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and documentation. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach. Preferred Qualifications: Certification: CPA or equivalent certification. Advanced Experience: Experience in a supervisory or managerial accounting role, with responsibilities including overseeing a team and managing complex financial processes. Industry Experience: Background in the space, defense or aerospace industry. Additional Qualifications: ERP Systems: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Deltek, Oracle) and implementing accounting systems improvements. Budgeting & Forecasting: Experience assisting with the budgeting and forecasting processes for a department or organization. Audit Leadership: Experience leading external audit preparation and interfacing with auditors. Process Improvement: Proven track record in identifying and implementing process improvements in accounting functions to increase efficiency and accuracy. Strategic Insight: Ability to provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
